At socialmediawall.io, we have seen a few thousands of social walls created by our users. But, one social wall caught our attention. In this blog article we describe how an Instagram wall by Odyssey Cinemas uses their Instagram account to involve and engage cinema goers.
We interviewed David Oldfield of Brainstorm Design Consultants Limited to share more details about the campaign.
Could you tell a little bit about the general idea behind the hashtag #caught campaign?
The campaign is for Odyssey Cinema http://www.odysseycinemas.co.uk/. The idea, as you can see from the photos, is to photograph the customer visiting the cinema and catch them (#caught) at Odyssey.
Is it a public campaign?
The campaign is public http://www.odysseycinemas.co.uk/gallery/caught.
What are you looking to achieve with the campaign?
The campaign is just to create awareness for the cinema and involve/engage the general public and cinema goers. The campaign is within the cinema itself.
Where are you displaying the wall?
The wall is displayed on the website using socialmediawall.io embed widget.
Tell us more about your social wall configuration
We have created a social wall using Odyssey Cinemas Instagram account feed. Instagram feed gets all posts from the account. For this campaign, we need to show only photos that are tagged with hashtag #caught. So we setup an inclusion word filter with #caught. This results in filtering out rest of the posts that do not include the tag.
